Curious George is no stranger to the big screen having had a feature film in 2006. The iconic children’s character has had a long run in story books and on TV for many years but for the first time is set to be receiving a live action adaptation under director Andrew Adamson.
Curious George follows the adventures of George the monkey and his keeper Ted, who wears the extremely noticeable bright yellow outfit. Originally a book series by Margret Rey and H.A. Rey, the monkey has gone on to be an iconic children’s character.
On board to direct the live action adaptation of the children’s character is Andrew Adamson. Adamson is a very distinguished director of childrens movies having directed Shrek, Shrek 2 and the first two Chronicles of Narnia films. Not a bad roster of films to have under your belt if you ask me. He clearly knows what he’s doing and how to make films entertaining for the whole family, not just children.
Alongside Adamson will be Ron Howard as producer who was the producer for the previous animated feature as well. The movie will be made under the Universal Picture banner with Imagine Entertainment producing.
