Bad Boys 3 has been the movie that’s been in development since before the wheel was invented, give or take a few days. After the success of Bad Boys 2 in 2003 from Michael Bay it was inevitable that a third film would eventually come about. It’s taken longer than expected but we now have a brand new name for the film and a slightly later release date.
With a brand new title of Bad Boys for Life it’s now becoming more and more of a reality that Sony Pictures are finally getting somewhere in getting this film made. It’s been 13 years since Will Smith and Martin Lawrence last shot their way onto screens as the best/worst police duo. I want to throw my opinion in here that Bad Boys for Life sounds like something a 14 year old boy buzzed on energy drinks would call themselves online.
It’s no surprising also that since they haven’t even started production that the original 2nd June 2017 has been shifted back a bit. Instead it’s being pushed back a solid 7 months to 12th January 2018 which is the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend in the states to it’s likely that it’ll fare well in the US box office.
Joe Carnahan (The A-Team, The Grey) is set to direct and producer Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean) confirmed that the script is still currently being written.
