Since it's announcement last April, it's been more or less known that the upcoming Batman solo movie was to be written and directed by leading star Ben Affleck. But it looks like he may have cooled his bat-jets on this one.
So after the mixed reviews (I'm being generous when I say 'mixed') of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice it was announced that we would see Ben Affleck return to the cowl in a solo movie for the caped crusader. We also learned that, as an Oscar winning writer, he would be penning the script. Since then we've also had Joe Manganiello casted as the infamous Deathstroke as the movies bad guy.
But now in an interview with The Guardian Affleck doesn't seem as keen on the project as he initially had been. Affleck said "That’s the idea. But it’s not a set thing and there’s no script. If it doesn’t come together in a way I think is really great I’m not going to do it." So it looks like he's in the mindset that he'll only do it if it looks like it could be something good. Which is fair enough I guess, why bother attaching yourself to something that might not work? But then again it also shows a certain lack of enthusiasm.
We'll be seeing Ben Affleck don the cowl again in the upcoming Justice League on 17th November 2017.
