The cast has started to be put together now for one of DC’s upcoming standalone films. The Flash, who has appeared in Batman V Superman and Suicide Squad, now has his father cast for the film in the form of Billy Crudup.
Billy Crudup is no stranger to superhero films. He’s previously starred as the all-powerful Dr Manhattan in 2009’s Watchmen. He is now on board for The Flash and will portray the role of Dr Henry Allen; father of Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen AKA: The Flash.
Dr Allen serves as a medical doctor and also aids Flash in his adventures and escapades. We don’t know exactly how big of a role he’ll be playing but since it’s Billy Crudup we imagine he’ll be seen quite a lot. We don’t know much about this film, written by Seth Grahame-Smith and directed by Rick Famuyiwa, but there are rumours that Cyborg may be making some sort of appearance.
Ezra Miller is current set to be seen again in a bigger role in Justice League next but he won’t be seeing Crudup until The Flash. Interestingly, we last saw Crudup in The Stanford Prison Experiment which also starred Miller so the two have already worked together.
The Flash will be sprinting into US cinemas on 16th March 2018.
