Lightning McQueen’s latest adventure will be premiering at the Edinburgh International Film Festival this year.
Cars 3’s story supervisor, Scott Morse, will be attending the screening on Sunday 25 June. He will also be attending two school screenings at Cineworld, Edinburgh on 26 June.
Cars 3 will be following Wall-E, Toy Story 3, Inside Out and Finding Dory as the latest Pixar film to premiere at the Edinburgh festival. This year, however, will be especially important - it is the festival’s 70th anniversary.
To promote the event, EIFF are running an art competition for children up to 13 years to design a racing car that they would put up against Lightning McQueen. The competition prizes include tickets to the premiere screening and an opportunity to attend an exclusive story workshop with Scott Morse. More details for the competition can be found on the festival’s website.
Mark Adams, the artistic director for EIFF, said: “Pixar Animation Studios is responsible for some of the greatest animated movies of our time and we're thrilled to be continuing our relationship with the studio and providing such a treat for our younger audiences and their families in our 70th Anniversary Year with Cars 3.”
Tickets for the screening are on sale now through the festival’s website (www.edfilmfest.org.uk) or by calling 0131 623 8030. Standard ticket prices will be £12, £8 for concessions, and £5 for under 16s.
