We've been talking a little bit about Shane Black's upcoming reboot of the classic 80's franchise and now we're a lot more excited as the primary cast has now been revealed.
As we've mentioned before, there's been plenty of buzz around the fact that Shane Black is rebooting the 1980's alien-fighting franchise. He's set to get cameras rolling this week so we have now been blessed by the Iron Man 3 director as he decided to reveal most of his line-up for the exciting rebooting, some of which we already knew, and it's a mighty fine line-up.
So, from left to right we are graced with Sterling K. Brown as an unnamed government agent, Trevante Rhodes as a military officer who's the partner to Boyd Holbrook's leading man Quinn McKenna, Jason Tremblay as Holbrook's son (pictured beside director Black), Olivia Munn as Casey Brackett and Keegan-Michael Key as another gun-wielding goon.
When you take in the fact that this isn't even the cast's final form, we can only imagine what other talent could be added to this film. Boyd Holbrook is quickly working his way up the ladder as he was first brought to our attention in Netflix's Narcos and can currently be seen as a special forces cyborg in Logan. A fellow X-Men alumna, Olivia Munn was Psylock in the lacklustre X-men Apocalypse. Rhodes can be currently seen in the incredibly critically acclaimed Moonlight, but you also know him from an appearance in Westworld. Brown, just like Holbrook is of Netflix fame, coming from The People Vs O.J. Simpson. And, of course, we all adore Tremblay for his heart-wrenching performance in Room.
But what can we expect from The Predator? Well, apparently it's not going to be pretty. Black has made it clear that it won't be the family-fun romp you'll wanna bring your kids to, saying "PG-13 is for pussies. Spines bleed... a lot." Yikes, that's quite the statement. But, this does match up to the original movies, considering that the titular antagonist had a habit of skinning his victims and hanging them from ceilings. We all need hobbies.
The Predator begins filming this week and we can look out for the extra-terrestrial bounty hunter 18th February 2018.
