There is one golden rule when it comes to superhero movies; nobody ever dies. Unless you’re Uncle Ben, then you stay dead. But heroes never die in superhero films so it will come to absolutely no surprise that DC are still planning to go ahead with a Man of Steel sequel after the events of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
If you’ve seen Batman V Superman you’ll know that Superman dies but not really. In the movie itself we see some weird future scenes which clearly show Superman. The Flash even engages his time-travel powers to warn Batman about Superman. Basically what I’m trying to tell you is that Superman’s death in completely meaningless and he is going to return.
Batman V Superman was actually originally penned to be the Superman sequel to Man of Steel but it ended up evolved (or mutated horribly) into what we ended up with. According to sources who spoke to The Wrap, the plans and development on another standalone Superman film are still very much on the table for DC. We have no idea when the film might arrive, what it will entail or where it will fall in regards to the Justice League.
DC currently have unnamed movie slots scheduled for October 2018 and November 2019 so we could see Superman take one of those slot potentially. As it stands we will be getting a second helping of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman for June 2017 and a feature film first with Justice League in November 2017.
