The Canadian director's sequel to the 1982 sci-fi classic, set to star Ryan Gosling and a returning Harrison Ford, finally has an official title and a 2017 release date.
Officially entitled Blade Runner 2049, the film is set for an October 6th release next year. Along with the announcement came our first real photo that proves that yes, this film is actually happening:
As well as Gosling and Ford, the (frankly speaking, stacked as hell) cast includes Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, Jared Leto, Mackenzie Davis, Ana de Armas, Lennie James, and Wetlands' Carla Juri.
Villeneuve, of course, previously directed Sicario, Enemy, and Prisoners, and currently has another sci-fi film making the rounds and creating a lot of good buzz at festivals: Arrival, which is set for wide release on November 11th.
