Back in 2000 the hottest Hollywood duo came in the form of the gunslinging Owen Wilson and ass-kicking Jack Chan in Shanghai Noon. We now get a return to this with a third film of this franchise; Shanghai Dawn.
The last time we saw Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan in their 19th century adventures was in Shanghai Knights in 2003. After the lukewarm reception it received we all assumed that was that. But now we have Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre director Jared Hess put in place to make this a trilogy.
We're not sure what Owen’s Roy O’Bannon and Chan’s Chon Wang will be getting up to this time but back over 10 years ago the rumours were an adventure set in colonial Africa. Original writers Miles Millar and Alfred Gough have set the story for this new film with Theodore Riley and Aaron Buchsbaum on board to write the script itself.
Shanghai Dawn doesn't have any release dates or shooting dates set yet but we’re sure there’ll be news about this soon enough.
