With his last outing in 2015 for SPECTRE, James Bond is set to walk from right to left and shoot the camera in 2019 for, as it’s currently dubbed, Bond 25.
The other day we had a press release from the two Bond producers, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli. In this press release they announced that 2019 will see the 25th instalment of the Bond franchise and the 5th movie since the Casino Royale reboot.
Robert Wade and Neal Purvis are back on writing duties, working away as we speak to get out the new Bond film with pre-production now underway. Wade and Purvis have written or co-written Casino Royale, Skyfall and SPECTRE – in other words all the good Daniel Craig Bond films (Sorry, but Quantum of Solace wasn’t good.)
Speaking of Craig, we should mention now that we have no confirmation or hints of whether he is going to reprise the role of 007. It’s all a bit messy as originally he said that SPECTRE would be his last film for this franchise but then that he was open to the idea, all the while the rumour mill was going 90 mph as Tom Hiddleston and Tom Hardy were allegedly the favourites to take over the iconic role. To summarise; we don’t know if Daniel Craig is returning to Bond and we haven’t the faintest clue about any casting at all.
This unnamed Bond 25 will have a US release of 8th November 2019 but the UK has a tradition of getting Bond about a week or so earlier than the US. He is a British icon, after all.
