Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence has been attached to the role of Zelda Fitzgerald, the acclaimed novelist, socialite, and wife of The Great Gatsby author F. Scott Fitzgerald, in a new biopic.
Zelda Fitzgerald has been portrayed in fictional portrayals many times before, but this film will be aiming for a more direct biopic-style portrayal, titled for now as just Zelda.
The film is being developed by Lionsgate executive-turned-producer Allison Shearmur, who helped catapult Jennifer Lawrence into stardom with the Hunger Games films. Working with her are Brian Oliver and Justine Ciarrocchi. Ron Howard is so far rumoured to be directing and has been involved with the film’s development so far, though nothing official has been announced yet.
The script is being written by Emma Frost of The White Queen, inspired by the infamous biography also entitled Zelda written by Nancy Milford.
There’s no word yet on when the film will start production, but in the meantime you can see Jennifer Lawrence in the sci-fi film Passengers which will be released on 23rd December.
