Acclaimed actress, film director and producer Jodie Foster is to star in Drew Pearce’s new film, Hotel Artemis.
After co-writing Iron Man 3 and working on drafts for high-profile films such as Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Drew Pearce has come away from his quiet spell of directing music videos and working on other projects to make his film directing debut with Hotel Artemis.
Pearce has also scripted the film, which we know little about other than that it will be set in its own distinctive crime universe, with Jodie Foster playing a character called ‘The Nurse’. Foster herself has recently been busy, playing roles in The Beaver (which she also directed) and Elysium as well as directing financial hostage drama Money Monster. She is best known for her roles in Silence of the Lambs and The Accused, for which she won two Academy Awards.
Pearce said of Foster: “Jodie Foster is an icon, pure and simple. She’s an extraordinary artist, and to be working with one of the all-time greats on my first feature as a director is an absolute honor.”
We know very little about the film so far, other than that The Ink Factory's Simon and Stephen Cromwell are backing the film and it should begin shooting next summer. Keep your eyes peeled!
