Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway are set to join Steven Knight's latest outing, a noir thriller that is unfortunately nothing to do with Firefly.
Fortunately, though, Steven Knight writing and directing is likely good news, at least for the two of us on the staff who caught Locke; he's proven himself as pretty adaptable, working as a writer on such disparate and blisteringly entertaining fare as Peaky Blinders, Taboo, Eastern Promises (a particular favourite of this writer's), the wonderful Dirty Pretty Things, and the aforementioned Locke (which he also directed).
McConaughey and Hathaway's involvement is essentially a bonus after all that, but what a bonus: the two were a treat on screen together in Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, and taken individually are two of our most talented working actors.
Knight and the cast are set to start the shoot on Serenity this summer. No news of a firm release date yet, so as always, watch this space.
