The Maze Runner series is one of the current young adult books-turned-film series. It follows much in the same vein as all the other ones we’ve been seeing, such as Hunger Games and the Divergent series. The series is set to restart filming it’s third film after production was halted due to the lead actor sustaining injuries on set.
Back in March of this year, leading star Dylan O’Brian sustained facial wounds and other injuries after an accident on set. Since this accident the filming was put on hiatus to give O’Brian some time to recover from his injuries.
A Restart date has now been put into place for February 2017. The Death Cure is the third film of the Maze Runner franchise. This delay will now require a new location for filming from where they were originally.
The Death Cure, directed by returning director Wes Ball, will see O’Brian’s Thomas racing to find a cure for the deadly disease known as Flare. The movie has a new release date of January 2018 for the UK cinemas.
