Spider-Man: Homecoming, or as we’re calling it; Spider-Man: Overcrowding, is an unstoppable movie that has been adding so many people to the cast that I’m almost certain the movie set is one step away from becoming an independent nation. The latest addition is Michael Chernus as The Tinkerer.
Now, I know what you’re saying. Who the bloody hell is The Tinkerer? I don’t blame you, he’s honestly the most obscure Spider-Man villain out there. He’s basically just an engineer whizz with crazy good gadget skills. Sadly, he only make gadgets with questionable moral use so he’s not a very friendly person. Michael Chernus is being brought on to play the role of Phineas Mason, the mild mannered alias of The Tinkerer. He can build gadgets but wow he is not good at naming.
This will be the third antagonist being added to the film. We already have Michael Keaton as the leading big bad as The Vulture and also Bokeem Woodbine in an unannounced antagonistic role. I’m really hoping that this won’t be third Spider-Man franchise to fall into the age-old trap of overloading a film with actors and villains. More does not mean better, have you seen Spider-Man 3 lately?
Tom Holland will return to play Peter Parker after his debut in Captain America: Civil War and will be joined by Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man and Keaton as the main villain. Marisa Tomei will play the all-important role of Aunt May, who we hope we'll get to see more of, with her flirtatious banter with Tony Stark.
Spider-Man: Homecoming comes to UK cinemas on 7th July 2017.
