As we literally begin to count down the hours before we get to see Suicide Squad hit cinemas we are getting more and more excited, and some of us more and more anxious. Setting anxiousness aside though, we now have some great new images of The Joker, Harley Quinn and Enchantress to help tide us over until Friday.
The first image we have here is of Jared Leto’s Joker. Possibly the element of the film causing the most tension is Leto as he has to follow up the likes of Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger who have both set the standard the standard for Joker and made him a cinematic icon. Here we see Joker in a tuxedo but a particularly wedding-esque style one. Now, this doesn’t mean we’ll be seeing a wedding because thanks to Joker’s eccentric behaviour (i.e.: he’s nucking futs) this could honestly just be his normal Tuesday clothes.
One of the characters I’m personally most looked to seeing is Cara Delevigne’s Enchantress, AKA June Moone. She’s a well known member of the Suicide Squad but hasn’t had a good hit in mainstream media yet to it’ll be really good to see her get some decent coverage. Using her magic to do pretty much anything she wants to non-living objects, she’s going to be a real source of total carnage in this film I think it’s safe to say. In the film she has a particularly dark and dirty look. I don’t mean that in a ‘sexy’ kind of dirty, I mean that in a literal sense of she looks like she could use a bath. But when you’re possessed by a centuries old evil magical force I guess you bathe whenever you like.
If there’s one character that has been talked about more than Leto’s Joker it’s easily Harley Quinn, being played here by Wolf of Wall Street’s Margot Robbie. She is a character that, although never made it to the movie screens, has featured very heavily in mainstream media and so has become a fan favourite. Robbie’s portrayal is definitely going to be under some severe scrutiny so she has her work cut out for her. Here we have here looking particularly dressed up in a very fancy setting. It is a very nice dress though.
Suicide Squad is blasting it’s way onto screens 5th August, this Friday.
