We haven’t seen too much in the way of Disney’s upcoming live action remake of the classic fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast. We’ve so far had a poster and a short teaser trailer to get us excited but now we can reveal some brand new images of some well-known characters.
Producer Jack Morrisey has released on the official Facebook page some exclusive images straight from the set of Beauty and the Beast. The one that catches our eye the most is this image of the anthropomorphic candlestick and clock, Lumiere and Cogsworth, who are to be played by Ewan McGregor and Ian McKellen respectively.
Morrisey has given a little warning that the post-production process is currently underway and that the above designs may not be final so we may see some slight differences in the movie of the actual characters. They do look very ornate though, very fitting for a luxurious manor however we can see that the inside mechanisms of Cogsworth have seen some better days.
We also have some live action shots from the set in a very behind-the-scenes sort of fashion. We can see Dan Stevens as the prince who is cursed and turned into the Beast, sporting the long blonde locks that the prince also had in the classic 1991 animated movie.
As well as Dan Stevens we have a look at, sort of, Luke Evans as the romantic rival of the prince, Gaston. We see his back more than anything but he is sporting the signature red costume and black tied-back hair. In front of him we have Josh Gad as his comrade LeFou and they seem to be in a tavern engaging in some singing perhaps? After all, no-one sings like Gaston.
As well as these actors we also have Emma Watson playing the leading role of Belle and she is joined by Stanley Tucci, Kevin Kline, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Audra McDonald. With this sort of cast and such a high standard of production we have very high expectations for this film.
Beauty and the Beast will be arriving to cinemas on 17th March 2017.
