Director James Mangold has released three new photos from the Logan set.
Mangold has been releasing images from Logan on Twitter since the film went into production last year, giving us glimpses into the narrative and plenty for fans to speculate on. In this latest set, the first is of a haggard, scarred Logan, played by Hugh Jackman (possibly for the last time):
Jackman himself confirmed the synopsis of the film via social media: we will see an ageing, battle-scarred Logan caring for a somewhat frail Professor X (below) in a hideout just south of the Mexican border. No mutant has been seen for nearly two decades, and Logan has been hiding from the world and his past.
However, Logan can’t hide for long. A young mutant named Laura (Dafne Keane, below) arrives, claiming to have similar powers to Logan - and a very familiar set of weapons.
It seems likely that the two might form a student-mentor bond, if not something closer (father-daughter, perhaps?), in the face of the grave danger posed by Donald Pierce (Boyd Holbrook) and the people he is working for.
We’ll find out when Logan comes to UK cinemas on March 3.
