The Game of Thrones star is being sought after for a role in the upcoming Avengers sequel.
While Dinklage is probably best known currently for his role as Tyrion Lannister in HBO’s historical fantasy series Game of Thrones, he has been involved in shooting films between shooting on the show. Now, with Game of Thrones’ schedule changing (and the show itself coming to an end very soon), it looks as though he might be joining the Marvel team with roles in both Avengers: Infinity War films.
However, all we know so far is that the discussions could be taking place - there hasn’t yet been an official statement from Marvel to confirm that Dinklage will be making an appearance. He certainly has experience in superhero films with his role as Dr. Bolivar Trask in X-Men: Days of Future Past - and, given his acting prowess, would certainly be a great addition.
Whether there will be room for Dinklage in the already heaving cast of superheroes planned for Infinity War and its unnamed sequel is up for debate - the plan appears to be that most of the current Marvel Cinematic Universe’s heroes will be facing Josh Brolin’s evil and God-like Thanos. Still, if there is indeed room for Dinklage, he would be a welcome face.
We will keep you posted with more news as it unfolds. Infinity War is due to be released on 27 April 2018, with it's follow-up coming in 2019.
