The acclaimed director of Scott Pilgrim and the Cornetto trilogy's made a musical car-chase heist movie, and we've got ourselves a trailer. Brace yourselves for excellence.
I feel like I have very little I need to say here beyond watch this awesomeness right the hell now:
Baby Driver stars Ansel Elgort (he of The Fault In Our Stars) as Baby, a young getaway driver who uses music to time his stunt-filled escapades. Joining him are an army of great modern acting talent, including Jamie Foxx, Jon Hamm, Jon Bernthal, Lily James, Eliza Gonzalez, and Kevin Spacey as the shady crime boss masterminding it all.
Wright himself has described this as "an action move powered by music," and the trailer above certainly promises that in spades. As mentioned previously by this writer, we're in what looks like a proper action cinema renaissance, and this looks like another in the line-up of those films ringing in this bright new era. More than that, it just looks fun as all get out. Count me in.
Along with this trailer, we've got a very '70s poster to please your eyeballs:
Baby Driver is set to wow us on the 16th of August. This writer isn't sure he can wait that long for more Edgar Wright, but such is life. Hold fast!
