The Goosebumps director is on board to direct the new Pokémon film.
With the recent release of Pokémon Sun and Moon bringing Pokémon back into the limelight after the drop-off of the hype around Pokémon GO, the next Pokémon movie is still going ahead with the supervision of Legendary Entertainment and The Pokémon Company.
The movie will be a live-action adventure (with Pikachu himself being rendered in CGI, of course), and a script has been written by Guardians of the Galaxy’s Nicole Perlman in collaboration with Gravity Falls’ Alex Hirsch. The trio, including Letterman, should have no trouble with bringing such an iconic character to life, what with their previous experiences with such characters and with Letterman’s experience in both animated films and live action with CGI incorporated.
We don’t know what the plot of the film will be just yet, so stay tuned for more news on that. The movie is expected to go into production in 2017.
