If there’s one man who’s ready to deal with the mighty gods of Asgard, it’s a man who’s already wrestled dinosaurs. With filming going on in Australia as we speak, Sam Neill has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a role in next year’s Thor: Ragnarok.
Sam Neill will be instantly recognisable as Dr Alan Grant who battle against dinosaurs, and Jeff Goldblum’s chest, on more than one occasion. He is now confirmed to be rejoining Goldblum as he has revealed he will be making an appearance in the third trip to Asgard, Thor: Ragnarok.
We know that his previous co-actor, Goldblum, will be playing the eccentric Grandmaster but we don’t actually know exactly what role we’ll be seeing Neill in. He hasn’t given away than information just yet so we have yet to find out if he’ll be playing one of the many ethereal gods of the Nine Realms or a mere mortal. I’m hoping he’ll be a God of the Dinosaur Planet.
With filming well underway in Australia, under the guidance of director Taika Waititi, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba are all returning to their godly forms to do battle against the evil Hela (Cate Blanchett) and Skurge (Karl Urban). Not to mention we’ll be seeing Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk and he’ll be donning some very interesting gladiator gear in this movie. Planet Hulk, anyone?
Thor: Ragnarok is due to cross over into our realm on 27th October 2017.
