Ocean’s Eight is set to be the remake of the classic heist movie, Ocean’s Eleven, with the cast being set as an all-female ensemble. This is following in the recent success story of remaking films and replacing the previously all-male cast with an all-female one. As if the cast for this film was big enough already, they are now looking at adding Sarah Paulson.
Ocean’s Eight has one of the best ensembles you can expect to find in any movie at the moment. Last we heard, the cast was made up of Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina. So, you know, the cast have a little experience in knowing how to be incredible actors. And Rihanna’s also there.
The latest actor to get eyed up for a role in the film, which is in need on one more member, is Sarah Paulson. Many people will recognise her from the hit Netflix horror series American Horror Story and she’s also starred in Carol, 12 Years a Slave and Serenity. We’re not sure exactly what role she’d be in, or indeed which particular roles the other cast members are in, but she’d be a great addition to an already stellar cast.
Director Gary Ross is working from a script by Olivia Milch and Steven Soderbergh will be coming on board to produce having directed the original Ocean’s Eleven. Shooting is scheduled to begin next month so we expect the cast to be nailed down very soon.
