The first trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming has been released courtesy of last night's Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is another reboot of the character, this time following on from his highly entertaining appearance earlier this year in Captain America: Civil War. Need this writer say more? It's Spider-Man, you know the deal.
Tom Holland is playing Peter Parker, picking up where he left off in Civil War. He's returning to his regular school life in Queens, only now he's got Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark keeping an eye on him, and evidently trying to keep him out of trouble. He's set to face off against Michael Keaton's winged villain Vulture, as well as bullies and having high school crushes, probably. Also starring are Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Donald Glover, Tony Revolori, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and Laura Harrier.
An aside: the diversity of this cast has been touched on before, but this writer just has to highlight it again. In contrast with previous Spider-Man outings, Homecoming seems to actually be trying to represent what an inner city high school in Queens really looks like these days. It's pretty great.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is set for release on 7th July 2017.
