The first teaser for Dennis Villeneuve's Blade Runner sequel, starring Ryan Gosling and a returning Harrison Ford, has been released. Check it out below.
We don't have any plot details yet, but what can be gleaned from the teaser below seems to suggest that Gosling is a blade runner in Deckard's stead, what with Deckard having presumably fled LA with Rachel at the end of the previous film. Anyway, watch this teaser. It's pretty sweet.
While we still have only the vaguest hints of a plot, the visuals and mood are really on point here. Roger Deakins' cinematography is as gorgeous as ever, and the production design seems to be nodding to the previous film while also striking out into new, strange territory (that big metal head in the rusty desert, though). However the film turns out, it's certainly going to be beautiful to look at.
Starring alongside Ford and Gosling are a supremely stacked cast, including Mackenzie Davis, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, Lennie James, Barkhad Abdi, Carla Juri, and Ana de Armas. Ridley Scott is also keeping a close eye on things in a production role.
Blade Runner 2049 is set to grace our cinemas on 6th October 2017.
