The next Thor movie has officially wrapped production, according to a Facebook Live broadcast from set by director Taika Waititi. Along with this came more hints of how the film will be handling the Hulk.
In the broadcast, Waititi roved around the final outdoor location, a sci-fi junkyard, introducing some of the cast and crew, including Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, whom we know from previous news as playing Valkyrie.
Another cast member briefly introduced in the broadcast appears to be playing a character called Miek. Miek was a supporting character in the Planet Hulk story-line and its animated adaptation, an insect-like resident of the gladiator planet upon which Hulk finds himself who helps Hulk to overthrow the planet's rulers. This provides further evidence that Ragnarok will be borrowing heavily from the Planet Hulk story-line, meaning we'll be seeing more of that sweet cosmic Marvel goodness, something this writer has been craving more of since Guardians of the Galaxy.
All in all, Thor: Ragnarok seems to be shaping up as an unexpectedly exciting outing for the MCU, not least because of the involvement of Taika Waititi. This writer recently managed to catch his recent effort Hunt for the Wilderpeople, and if the quality of that film is anything to go by, Thor's in very safe hands.
Thor: Ragnarok is currently set for release here in the UK on October 27th, 2017.
