The sequel to Gareth Edward's 2014 monster flick is shaping itself with a strong cast, ready for the next instalment in Legendary Pictures' MonsterVerse series.
We already have Netflix Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown on board in a leading role for the sequel to the monstrous 2014 film, but we have a fine set of parents for the young star. Kyle Chandler (Zero Dark Thirty, Manchester by the Sea) will be playing her father and we now have the mother role filled by Vera Farmiga (The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, The Conjuring 2). We don't know how big of a role this will be, but the previous film showed us that being a big name in Hollywood doesn't save you from an on-screen death (poor Bryan Cranston).
We don't know too much about this sequel other than the consistent rumours of the title being something along the lines of Godzilla: King of Monsters. We don't think that this will be the King Kong battle that Legendary are building towards, instead our favourite gargantuan lizard will be battling one of the many, many gigantic monsters he's famous for fighting.
Director of Krampus, Michael Dougherty, is taking the lead of this film as he takes the helm from Edwards who has set the bar quite high for a monster flick. He co-wrote the script alongside his Krampus co-writer, Zach Shields.
We are currently expecting the sequel to stomp it's way into cinemas 22nd March 2019.
