Black Panther is very busy in it’s pre-production at the moment with the cast being built for the 6th movie in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The latest addition to the already incredibly strong cast is Winston Duke as the leading bad guy, M’Baku.
Duke Winston will be fresh new face to the silver screen having only done TV work up until now. He is most known for having recurring roles in the acclaimed Person of Interest and also The Messengers. He is being brought onto the film as M’Baku, one of Black Panther’s nemeses.
M’Baku, often known under the name of Man-Ape, gains supernatural powers such as superhuman strength and speed by killing and eating a sacred gorilla. Many of Black Panther’s foes and allies tend to have African animal style themes so this is something we’ll likely be seeing a lot more of.
With Duke as the villain to Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther, we also have the very impressive cast of Lupita Nyong’o (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, 12 Years A Slave), Danai Gurira (The Walking Dead) and Michael B. Jordan (The Fantastic Four, Creed). The cast will be working under the direction of Ryan Coogler who has worked with Jordan before, having directed the highly acclaimed Creed.
Black Panther is currently aiming to leap into cinemas in February 2018.
