With production beginning soon, the star comedian from The Hangover series is set to join A Wrinkle In Time.
Director Ava DuVernay continues to find an eclectic mix for the cast of A Wrinkle In Time, the adaptation of the 1962 children’s novel by Madeleine L’Engle. Galifianakis has come on board alongside Levi Miller (Pan), Bellamy Young (Scandal), Rowan Blanchard (Girl Meets World) and newcomer Deric McCabe, joining a cast that so far also includes Oprah Winfrey, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.
The film will follow the Murray family on their mission to find their missing scientist father, with a mysterious lady named Mrs Whatsit informing them that his research into time travel may have been more successful than planned. Galifianakis will be playing a character called Happy Medium, who can see different times and places - a very useful power in a story about travelling through time and space.
A Wrinkle In Time is due for a 2018 release date. In the meantime, Galifianakis is on UK screens now in Keeping Up With The Joneses and will be voicing the Joker in The Lego Batman Movie, which will be released on 10th February 2017.
